Castlemead Tower - Bristol

This complex contract involved a complete stripout, right back to shell/core, of six floors of Bristol's tallest building: an 18-storey live commercial office tower in the heart of the city. The building interior needed to be completely removed prior to the refurbishment and re-fit of the space. The work included the removal of all furniture, fittings, partitions, floor coverings, screeds, suspended ceilings, toilet areas, kitchens, air conditioning ducting and systems, boilers and water tanks. The logistics of the contract meant that every item removed from site needed to be transferred down the outside of the building by means of a hoist.

With the project positioned next to the large Cabot Circus development, detailed planning was required to overcome the limited time and space available for skip deliveries and pick-ups, resulting in ClearSite’s careful management of temporary road closures. With all other floors in the building being fully occupied, out-of-hours working was applied to all noisy works, requiring an almost constant 24-hour on-site presence by ClearSite for the duration of the strip out contract.
