Salisbury Council Offices

This sensitive contract involved the complete stripout of one of the grade 2 listed Salisbury Council offices: a 250-year-old Georgian mansion. The interior needed to be completely removed prior to the refurbishment and re-fit of the space. The work included the demolition of internal structural walls, as well as the removal of waste display cabinets, furniture, fittings, partitions, floor coverings, staircases, toilet areas, mechanical services and plant, electrical services and lights and suspended ceilings.

The logistics of the contract meant that every item removed from site needed to be walked through the main foyer and entrance of the building. A good deal of planning was required to overcome the limited space available for removing the waste from site, using carefully planned skip drop-offs and pick-ups and strictly managed temporary road closures between the hours of 7.30 and 9.00 am. Great care was taken to remove such items as chandeliers and oak panelling in order for these items to be re-installed during the project’s completion.
